School Holiday Horse Riding Camps
During school holidays, Glenworth Valley's Horse Riding Camps offer children aged 5-18 years, the opportunity to see what it is like to own their own horse.
Glenworth Valley camps are graded so as to maximise enjoyment by all participants. Our camps are extremely popular and cater for the complete beginner to the advanced pony club rider. The camps offer various sessions each day. Each session is provided in accordance with a training plan which amongst other things includes grooming, saddling, ground control, walking, trotting and cantering, jumping, sporting, mounted games and scenic trail rides through rock pools & rainforest's. As riders advance we will progress to lateral movement, rounding and collecting.
Children are required to bring their own food, drinks, sunscreen, a sun hat, suitable sun wise riding attire (such as a long sleeve shirt), water proof rain jacket and a warm jumper for the day. Swimmers and a towel are also recommended for summer camps.
JUNIOR BEGINNER RIDERS - Half Day Camps Riders (5-8 Yrs)
Our half day junior beginner saddle club camps are an ideal way to introduce young children with limited horse riding experience to the pleasures of horse riding, whilst being under the supervision of qualified instructors.
Students can look forward to learning the basics on how to lead, brush and mount. Students will receive a lunge lesson and a lesson in the basics of horse riding, including walking and trotting.

BEGINNER RIDERS - Full Day Camps ( 7-16 Yrs)
Our 1 day beginner camps are suited to children with little or no horse riding experience. Students can look forward to learning the basics on how to lead, tie up, brush and mount.
During the day students will receive 2 hour riding lessons from our qualified instructors who will teach ground control, walking and trotting. Students will then have the opportunity to practice what they have learnt on a 2 hour scenic guided trail ride through the valley.

Beginner Level 1 Camp
This camp is suitable for children who have never ridden, or may have ridden lead ponies.

This camp is suitable for children who have ridden a few times, may be able to rising trot, and steer the horse. They may also have had some lessons.

INTERMEDIATE RIDERS - Full Day Camps (7-16yrs)
Our 1 day intermediate camps are suited to children who have completed our beginner camps, or have had suitable riding experience. Students need to be able to rise to the trot and steer proficiently to participate.
Students will be given two, 1 hour riding lessons, building on the skills they have learnt in previous camps or lessons. Depending on the ability and interests of students, this may include an introduction to jumping or other skills. The day also includes horsemanship skills and a 2 hour scenic guided trail ride through the Valley.
Note: an assessment lesson may be required to determine suitability for this camp.

Intermediate Level 1 Camp
This camp is suitable for children who can trot and steer without holding on to the saddle, and can canter while holding on.

This camp is suitable for children who can canter without holding on, have done some jumping, have had some lessons and are riding regularly.

BEGINNER 2 to INTERMEDIATE 1 - 2 Day Overnight Camp
Our 2 day overnight camp is suited to children that are at Beginner 2 to Intermediate 1 level. Riders will have the opportunity to do different activities on horse back, learn about grooming and meet friends that have the same love of horses. Your instructors for the 2 days are very experienced and knowledgeable and will be able to answer any questions you may have. Your night time supervisors will be one of our friendly Glenworth Valley staff that will be ready to entertain campers with some night time activities.

SPORTING DAYS
This is a great day of fun and games whilst meeting new people and learning a new discipline in the world of horse riding. Sporting days are suitable for ages 7-16 and all ability levels. The children will enjoy games such as bending, flags, cup race and barrels. Each event will be explained in full by our instructor before the children are given the opportunity to walk their horses through the activity. Once all participants are confident they will be allowed to re-try at a pace that they are comfortable with. The day will conclude with a scenic trail ride.

ALL DAY ADVENTURE RIDE- Intermediate 2 & Advanced Camp
The All Day Adventure Ride is for Intermediate 2 and Advanced graded children only (assessment will be required if the child has not attended our camps before).
This trail ride will see our travellers ride through native bushland and rainforest trails up past our agistment area and onto our adjoining property at Peats Ridge. Here we will stop, have lunch and have a refreshing dip in the pool that is available.
We will then continue our ride heading back towards Glenworth Valley, down Steves trail and back through rockpools to our main horse riding yards.
A big day of riding, but a great way to spend your holidays!
Children are required to bring their own food, drinks, sunscreen, a sun hat and suitable sun wise attire (such as a long sleeve shirt) for the day. A bumbag will also be required to carry snacks and drinks. Swimmers will need to be worn under clothing. A towel will also be needed, however it will be required to be left at Glenworth until the child returns from their ride. All food will be transported to the lunch site.

ALL DAY ADVENTURE RIDE- Beginner Camp
The All Day Adventure Ride is for Beginner riders. The day will begin with a group lesson in the arenas to assure that all riders are confident with their skills. After morning tea riders will commence their adventure ride. Adventure riders will ride to Orange Tree where they will have a lunch break and then ride back to the yards. A big day of riding, but a great way to spend your holidays!
Children are required to bring their own food, drinks, sunscreen, a sun hat and suitable sun wise attire (such as a long sleeve shirt) for the day.
