Riding LessonsWe have a variety of skilled and experienced instructors for you to choose from who are all keen to share their love and knowledge of horse riding with you. Horse riding lessons are the ideal way to learn confidence, balance and co-ordination in a controlled environment where the potential risks associated with horse riding are minimised. All new students are initially given an assessment on the lunge and our qualified friendly instructors will be able to allocate them to a suitable group or design a personalised training programme for them. Safe enjoyable riding is our number one priority, and accordingly all of our friendly staff are highly trained in safety matters. Glenworth Valley is a founding member of the Australian Horse Riding Centres Association which regulates safety standards for the horse riding industry. Lesson
Options Group lessons involve 2 - 6 riders of similar ability at the same time. One of the most important aspects of learning is being able to practice what you have been taught. Group lessons provide an ideal environment to both learn from your instructor and to practice whilst under their supervision. Students often learn just as quickly from being told what to do by their instructor as they do from seeing other riders of similar ability develop.

Please be aware that our maximum weight limit may be lower than 110kgs and is subject to variation on a daily basis according to what horses are available for work on the day that you attend. The use of many games & activities, including instructed trail rides teach the riders to enjoy their riding time as well as developing the skills to take them into competitive riding if they wish, whether it be dressage, jumping or eventing.
Leanne began riding at the age of 5 and during her teenage years competed successfully in the UK at her local Pony Club. She gained her British Horse Society Preliminary Teacher’s Certificate at the age of 17 and her teaching experience over the last 20 years has encompassed work as a trail riding escort as well as a riding instructor in Switzerland and the UK. Since 1998 Leanne has competed in long distance endurance riding, novice jumping and dressage on her own horse, Brewster. She enjoyed considerable success in dressage at her local Riding Club in the UK and relocated to Australia in 2005. Leanne is well regarded for her patience in teaching beginner and nervous riders, both adults and children alike. Her preliminary lessons place great emphasis on establishing and maintaining the correct riding position at all paces and the precise application of the aids so that riders learn to control their horses with ease and in harmony.
