What is the minimum age for riding?
The minimum age for trail riding is 7 years. For younger children aged
3-7 we have lead ponies available.
What should I wear?
Long pants, enclosed footwear such as boots with a small heel or sports
shoes. No thongs or sandals please.
Do I have to make a booking, or can I just
turn up?
Yes, pre-booking is required. On most occasions, we tend to have some
places left over for riders who don't have a booking, however we frequently
get completely booked out as well.
What happens in inclement weather?
Our rides generally operate in all weather conditions. We will only cancel
a ride if the conditions are such that they would endanger both horse
and rider ie. torrential rain. If you are worried about the weather on
the day of your ride, please call the GV office on 02 4375 1222 to receive
an update on the actual, on-site weather conditions. Quite often it can
rain in Sydney or Gosford, yet not rain at all at Glenworth Valley.
How can I pay?
We offer a number of different payment methods. We accept cash, EFTPOS,
Bankcard, Mastercard and Visa. Company cheques will only be accepted on
prior arrangement with management.
Can I bring my own horse?
Yes, however a fee of $40 per horse per day applies. This gives you access
to all the valley trails and facilities for the day. You are also welcome
to camp with your horse. Standard camping fees apply, and you will need
to provide your own portable fencing for your horse.
I'm a good rider, but my partner/friend has
not ridden before.
Most groups generally contain riders of mixed ability. Whilst we offer
our customers the choice of free range or guided riding, Glenworth Valley
recommends that all riders should at least start out with a guide. Riders
are welcome to leave the guided ride, or ride ahead of the guide at any
time, or they can stay with the guide for the full duration of the ride.
For your safety, Glenworth Valley recommends that unless you have ridden
more than 50 times, you should stay with the guide for the full duration
of your ride.
Are you open over the Christmas/New Year period?
Glenworth Valley will be closed on Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th and Thursday
25th December 2008 as well as Thursday 1st January 2009.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
Please refer to our cancellation policy for further details.
