Agistment Options

Glenworth Valley offers several types of agistment to suit all needs and budgets. Which option you choose depends on factors such as your budget, type of horse, type and amount of riding you do. Whatever your preference, there is a home here for your horse. All horses have access to our improved pastures, safe fencing, supervision, regular worming and dentist appointments.

Spelling agistment

Spelling agistment is for either retired horses, horses requiring convalescence or those needing a break. Our spelling horses enjoy natural and peaceful surroundings. Due to the nature of this type of agistment, facilities are limited at the spelling properties.

Paddock rates are $47.00 per week.

Riding agistment

Let your horse enjoy the best that nature has to offer. The riding agistment is by far our most popular agistment and represents great value for money. Whilst you have access to all the facilities and riding trails, your horse has access to the most natural environment you can provide. The paddocks are rotated on a weekly basis and the horses are brought closer to the carpark and facilities area over the weekend. However the horses are still easily accessible during the week and you are welcome to visit your horse as you please.

The number of horses in riding agistment can vary however all of our paddocks are large enough to accommodate the number of horses in each thus ensuring they are never overstocked. These horses have access to many different paddocks ensuring there is no competition for feed.

Paddock rates are $53.00 - $65.00 per week, depending on which property your horse is located at.

Small group agistment

Small group agistment enjoys all the same benefits as the riding agistment but on a smaller scale. There are approximately 4-12 horses in a paddock.

Paddock rates are from $70.00 - $85.00 per week.

Feed program paddock

If you would like your horse fed they usually have to be in either a separate paddock or one of the special "feed program" paddocks. A full range of supplementary feeding and rugging/unrugging programs are available. Only the best quality feeds are used and these are fed according to the manufacturers recommendations. Products used provide a complete and economical "cool" energy feed.

These paddocks have specially designed individual yards to ensure your horse enjoys all of their feed without any stress or competition.

The feed program paddock rates are $70.00 per week (paddock costs only). Feed program options start at $30.00 per week (excluding feed costs). If you would like your horse fed they usually have to be in either a separate paddock or one of the special "feed program" paddocks.

On arrival at Glenworth Valley you are required to complete an application for agistment form and to pay for one month's agistment and an initial drench upfront. Thereafter, agistment fees are paid one month in advance. Statements of account are forwarded on the 15th of each month. Agistment fees are debited to your account on the last Saturday of the month. Weekly service fees will be charged on overdue accounts.

All horses are drenched on arrival, and then every second month. Drench costs are $33 per drench, and this cost is debited to your agistment account in advance.

Payment may be made in person at the Glenworth Valley office, online through our website, by post or by B-Pay. We also have eftpos and credit card facilities in the yard office. Cheques and Money Orders should be made payable to Glenworth Valley Horse Riding Pty Ltd.
